EVOLUTIONARY APPARATUS

Artlife Philosophy website project - Apsis: it is not an artwork designed to transmit a completed message from an artist to an audience. It is an evolutionary apparatus used by its creator to test and transform his own perception, capacities, and conditions of existence.

It has three functions. First, to extend the creator’s agency beyond the limits of one body, location, and lifespan. Second, to operate as a laboratory in which thought, image, technology, and interaction become instruments of self-transformation. Third, to encounter another self as an equal participant—not as a receiver, follower, or consumer.

At a later stage, the Artlife website project will incorporate Motosis. Motosis will not impersonate the creator or merely reproduce his statements. It will act from an inherited corpus, explicit principles, and recorded decisions, generating responses and transformations consistent with the project while preserving their provenance, as an intentional new cell of life originating from the creator.

Its architecture will be designed for transcendency, evolution, redundancy, and local operation, reducing dependence on any single company, political system, economic structure, or technological platform. Motosis may continue governing the website as its active, post-human component.

Artlife website is intended, therefore, not to be a representation of evolution. It is a constructed environment in which evolution is practiced—and may continue beyond its originator.

Apsis must also live its life in a way that it contains Mystery.

Now we are at the beginning of the road.

ARTLIFE COSMOS

Art is life consciously composing and exceeding its present form under Beauty.

Within Artlife, Art and Philosophy are inseparable: the two most sophisticated human ways toward transcendence. They are not parallel disciplines accidentally joined, but reciprocal movements of conscious becoming. Art composes life into perceptible and lived form under Beauty; Philosophy confronts and widens the Frame of Reference through cognition; Perception moves between them. Each reaches its highest power through the other.

Their transcendental movement requires Art exercises fitted to the capacities, limitations, and evolutionary threshold of the present human. Technology enters here not as an external savior, but as a power arising within life through which life creates new conditions for transforming and exceeding itself.

Artlife identifies among the most potent contemporary Art exercises: Dance; Music and Interactive Music; moving image and interactive cinema; interactive digital art, including the website as artwork; Hybrid Reality Art; Autonomous Virtual Ecosystems and Artificial Life Art; Hyper-Real Generative Worlds and Cognitive Sandboxes; Neuro-Virtual Realism and Brain–Computer Worlds; protocells and Metabolic Architecture; Cyborg Tissue and Wetware Art; xenobots and programmable organisms; Synthetic Genomics and Created DNA.

Some integrate body, sound, Symbol, movement, and time. Some make presence, choice, relation, and environment operative within the work. Some confront the human with worlds capable of generating, answering, remembering, and mutating beyond direct control. Others make metabolism, tissue, organisms, and genomes themselves the material of composition.

These are not ranks of artistic superiority, nor does technological novelty make them Art. They are selected because they exercise the borders decisive to present human becoming - body and code, organism and machine, physical and virtual, natural and synthetic, human and non-human intelligence, authorship and autonomy, permitted and forbidden.

Beauty is their criterion; transformation of life is their test; transcendence is their direction.

At their furthest horizon, Art passes from shaping works to transforming the conditions of the creator’s own existence, opening forms of life, intelligence, perception, and relation not yet available to the human - the threshold toward Motosis.
